Anything going on?

Greetings everybody,

I've been meaning to keep up more with my internet side since I got out.  However, that hasn't  been entirely possible.  The internet connection has been about as reliable as wet toilet paper, being down more than it has been up.  Literally, I'll load up the home page of (insert site), and it will go out, completely nullifying the reason for going there.  Now that I've moved bases, as well as switched to a phone that can support online junk, I'll be able to keep up a little more.

NAS/NATTC
Where I went to learn basic electronics straight out of boot camp.  Well, not straight out.  Had to wait 1.5 months to actually get into class.  When coming out of boot, Uncle Sam doesn't just say "Go catch up on life, you've earned it son!"  He says "we're gonna give you your priviledges back in phases.

Phase I:  Can only wear military uniforms, not supposed to leave base without a buddy, can't drive, or get ino for that matter, a personally owned vehicle(POV).  Have to go to a role call at 9:45pm every night specifically for phase I. Lasts about 14 days.

Phase II:  Now allowed to wear "civies" on liberty.  Its not called off work anymore.  Naming it liberty means they can take it away from you if you're a 'shitbag', the official military terminology for a fuck-all retard who can't keep his uniform together and/or be where he needs to on time.  Phase II has to be back in the dorm roo....barracks by 10pm on weekdays, and midnight on weekends.  Can drink if you're old enough.  Lasts about 21 days.

Phase III:  Can now stay out all weekend and drive a vehicle.

This wasn't bad until about 3 weeks before I left, they decided to start making people sign out in the evenings.  Such a decision leads to god awful lines just to get outside.  There were 3 lines:  30 minute line, 3 hour line, off base line.  If you aren't back in on time for the first two, you get to see the Instructor on duty for the night and tell them why you were late.  To leave base, you MUST have a buddy with you, and the same one when you come back.  This is the point where i could not wait to come to Corry Station, where I am now.

Rooms at NAS:  3 beds per room, 2 rooms sharing a bathroom.  Yes, 6 people sharing one shower and one toilet.  Not fun.  Cannot have coffee makers, a damn shame.

Room at Corry:  2 beds per room, each room with a bathroom.  My current roommate is a mix between a fucking weeabo convention dork and Pvt. Pyle from Full Metal Jacket.  I've been here less than a week, he's left his laptop on the chair he drags in there so he can either surft the web or watch chinese cartoons when he bathes.   I don't think he does what the typical image of such a situation would have people believe, since to day I found a copy of twilight next to it.  And if he does........fuck, it hurts just to think about finding that stuff in there earlier.

Here, being off, I can do whatever I want when I'm off, as long as I don't get in trouble.  Problem is, the typical work day around here ends at 545 pm.  Kind of cuts into your afternoons, especially when one has to get up for PT at 5am the next morning 3 days a week.  Supposedly the commanding officer is looking into shortening the work day, which woud be awesome.  And by the way, you thought rumors in high school and college were bad, this place is almost as bad as the internet(the military in general, that is)

Overall it has its ups and downs.  Pensacola itself wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so spread out, or at least if I were stationed closer to downtown.  Then again, I'd probably spend more money than I need to if I were.  I realize this post rather bland, even for my shitty writing, but trying to cram 3.5 months into a single post is not easy, and I've about lost interest in talking about it at this point.  I really came on here and facebook to see about people's posts(and pictures) from the weekend.  It was fun seeing everyone(hence my new icon), and I'll try to visit in a week or so.

Also, there's a big camp ground here apparently.  I'll have to look more into it, but if people are interested in coming back up in a couple months, its fairly cheap.  Here's a few examples of stuff on it:

Mobile homes:  $50 a day.  Fully furnished, I believe 2 bedrooms
Cabins:  $30 a day.  Bare essentials at best, but right on the water.

Things to rent(hourly and daily):
Boats, tubes, knee boards, fishing stuff, mini golf, camping and grilling stuff, paintball, etc. Some stuff is kind of pricey(like a boat, a 24' Pontoon being 170$ for the day) but if everyone chipped in, 170$ for the day wouldn't be that much.  (10 people equals $17 a person, thats not too bad).  I know money is not everyone's best friend after this trip(a couple trips for some), but I thought it would be something for people to consider as another, cheaper vacation before the cooler weather kicks in.  By the way, someone let me know how much I owe for Ben and I staying Friday night, and to whom.  Forgot to chip in for that before I left Saturday night.

I've been in a void for two months.  Everyone I ask about the outside world says that shit really hasn't happened or changed.  Everyone post here to give me an update on their past two months.  Guy and other techno-savvy mother fuckers update me on laptops and phone-slash-media device that would be optimal.

I just came across some old pictures from 2001. I knew we were getting old, but seeing the difference in front of me made me stop what I was doing to let it set in.

In case you haven't heard, Guy is moving to the southshore so he doesn't have to spend 400-500 bucks a month on gas. Meaning I now have an open room, and/or looking for someone else who may have one.

*I like animals.

*Weeknight noises should be kept to a dull roar. Noone needs to walk on eggshells, but I don't want to try falling asleep to the re-enactment of Soul Train. This includes coital attempts with your choice of gender.
*Hi-speed interwebs will be established if not done so already.
*Flexible in habits/duties/rituals, provided other person(s) make the same effort.

If you feel murderous death will not end our dualship as roommates, feel free to apply.
